vampire movie dracula untold pic

It seems that origin stories are all the rage this past decade so why not do an origin story on Dracula?

Although Director Gary Shore is unknown in Hollywood, he’s made big waves directing commercials for worldwide brands. So much so that Universal Pictures and Legend Pictures where optimistic enough in his talents to supply Dracula Untold with a $100 million dollar budget.

And it looks like it’s paid off. The trailer leads us to believe we are in for one heck of a thrill ride with tons of action. This doesn’t look like your typical vampire movie, but instead more of a medieval battle movie like 300 or Braveheart, but with a vampire. It’s going to definitely be more action then scares, but thats not nessesceraly a bad thing.

It will be interesting to see how Dracula Untold decides to portray the vampire myth and the historical accounts of Vlad the Impaler. So many vampire films take place in modern day, the Victorian era or even the future, it will be refreshing to see what can be done with the genre when you bring it all back to the begining.

You’ll have to wait until October 10 to see Dracula Untold in theatres, but in the meantime, watch the trailer. This won’t be your typical blood sucker movie.
